Thailand: five Cambodians stopped for attack and rape of French tourists

BANGKOK - Five Cambodian fishermen were stopped and indicted with rape and violent attack on Saturday evening with four French tourists on an island from the east of Thailand, pointed out the police on Monday.
Four victims, two men and two women - the one old of about fifty years and second of about twenty - were always hospitalised on Monday, specified to the AFP NOPPARAT RINTHAPHOL, the police chief of the province of Trat, in load of affair.
Five supposed attackers «all admitted facts. And we have already undertaken reconstitution this morning», he added.
Attack took place on Koh Kut, small tourist island in waters turquoises, which is on border with Cambodia.
Four Frenchmen walked on a road of the island to go to the restaurant when they were stopped by two of their supposed attackers while three others, armed with knives, were hidden in bushes.
Hurt, both men would have succeeded in fleeing to go to search helps. Both women were raped.
From Sunday, dozens policemen and villager raked over the island in search of the suspects. Three could be stopped in Koh Kut and two others intercepted while they tried to run away towards neighbouring Cambodia, specified the police.
In September, 2014, two young British tourists had been killed on a beach of the south of the country, drama which had hit the headlines of local newspapers and taken the edge off the picture of tourist destination without risk of Thailand.
After a controversial trial, two young Burmeses were sentenced to death in December for this crime.
Tourism represents the country about 10 % GDPS of and constitutes one of the rare positive points of a half-mast economy.
Over first ten months of the year of 2015, the kingdom welcomed 28 million tourists, establishing a new record.
